Hello, I'm Maria Luiza!
Hello, I'm Maria Luiza!
I am a creative, curiosity-driven person who is always trying to learn a way to make things better, never giving up on myself or professional challenges. Always open to learn more and more, be it about UX UI Design techniques or about life.
When this design thing started
My academic journey began with a degree in Archivology from UEPB, where I developed a solid foundation in organizing and managing information. During my time as a student, I had the opportunity to delve into the fascinating field of Information Architecture, which became the focus of my monograph (TCC).
For my TCC, I conducted an in-depth evaluation of the websites of UEPB and UFPE, comparing their systemic approaches to Information Architecture. This research allowed me to explore the intricacies of structuring information in a digital context, uncovering the importance of intuitive navigation, clear categorization, and effective information retrieval.
Towards the end of my studies, I had the privilege of attending a workshop led by an archivist, where she shared insights about UX Research in Archivology and introduced the concept of Research OPS. This workshop piqued my curiosity about the field of User Experience (UX) and ignited a desire to explore the intersection of information management and user-centered design. The workshop opened my eyes to the broader realm of UX, where research, empathy, and a deep understanding of user needs play a pivotal role in creating meaningful digital experiences.
Enthused by the potential of UX design to increase user satisfaction and engagement, I embarked on a journey of self-study and immersion in the field.
Why UX Design?
I developed a strong affinity for experience design because it was aligned with my skills and passion for creativity. Even before entering this field, I knew how to work with tools like Photoshop, using them to create interesting visuals, create publications, and edit professional images. This familiarity with Photoshop proved to be an advantage during my transition into UX design, as it made the process of learning tools like Figma easier.
Being a highly creative person, I enjoy generating and exploring innovative ideas. Whether it's creating user experiences by creating intuitive interfaces, I take great joy in the process of turning ideas into prototypes for applications or websites.
Diving into UX UI Design Studies
I embarked on my journey into the world of UX Design by enrolling in a course at Alura - School of Technology. As I progressed through each module of the course, my passion for UX design grew exponentially. It was an eye-opening experience as I delved deeper into the field, immersing myself in the terminology, best practices, and the diverse range of prototyping tools and software utilized by UX designers.
The more I learned, the more I realized the immense potential and impact of UX design on shaping exceptional user experiences. It was during this learning process that I began to witness the power of thoughtful design decisions and how they can profoundly influence user satisfaction and engagement.
The continuous evolution and growth I've experienced in the field of UX design have filled me with a sense of excitement and motivation. Each project and challenge I encounter fuels my desire to further refine my skills, expand my knowledge, and explore new frontiers in the realm of user experience.
Evolution
I have discovered that UX design allows me to blend my innate creativity, problem-solving abilities, and empathy for users into a fulfilling career. The prospect of building a long-term and fulfilling career in UX design is something that truly excites me. I envision myself contributing to diverse projects, collaborating with talented teams, and creating impactful and intuitive digital experiences that leave a lasting impression on users.
What I can do
I am a professional responsible for developing solutions through discovery and empathy, meeting the needs of people participating in the experience. The goal is to leave them satisfied before, during and after their interaction with a service or product.
• Conduct interviews with users for building personas, journey map, empathy map, product value proposition, among other things;
• I can propose solutions through problem identification, dialogs with the person participating in the journey, testing, and validation;
• Analyze the experience of using the product or service to identify opportunities and points for improvement;
• Present the findings of the process and demonstrate how the data informed the decision;
• Identify business opportunities through research, interviews, and data analysis;
• Creating wireframes, building prototypes of mobile and desktop applications to test and validate hypotheses.
